The first Volunteer Friendly Network event was held in Dundee on 14 June. Staff from 16 volunteer centres across Scotland came together to share their experiences of working with groups using the Volunteer Friendly toolkit and to discuss options to take the Volunteer Friendly Award forward after the end of its SVA funding later this year.
During the event, four Dundee groups were presented with their Volunteer Friendly Awards by Betty Ward, convener of the Volunteer Centre Dundee's Board of Directors. The groups were:
- DightyConnect
- Dundee Women's Aid
- the East End Panto Group
- the Hillside Project.
Delegates were pleased to have the opportunity to talk to representatives of the groups and to look at the portfolios of evidence they had prepared. "This really puts flesh and bones on the award", said one of the participants.
